Teams participating in the challenge received free access to Google and Open AI’s latest suite of AI tools

develop your skills

Participants learn how to use the latest AI tools, guided by the help of mentors and experts also participating in the challenge.

Participants also experienced how to develop a prototype and work on a team in a week-long hackathon format.

connect & compete

Participants met with like-minded problem solvers and innovators in-person and through Slack, where attendees from across the country connected with teams and mentors in other regions, as well gaining access to online sessions.

North West teams were competing to represent the region at the National AI Meetup in Galway on Thursday 5 September.

188 delegates ranging from corporates, innovators, enterprise agencies and government flocked to Galway to hear from some of the brightest minds working in AI across the country.

After winning the North West Regional Finalé, Bias Busters were selected as 1 of 3 overall national winners, having developed a prototype aimed at addressing bias in AI systems.
