ALPHA Innovation shortlisted at LAMA All Ireland Community and Council Awards 2024

ALPHA Innovation and Donegal County Council was acknowledged nationally at the LAMA All Ireland Community and Council Awards 2024 in the Royal Convention Centre in Dublin on Saturday 17 February.

It was a fantastic night as council initiatives from across the country were recognised for the impact they have made on their local communities. Donegal County Council was honoured to take home the prestigious Inclusive Project Award for the initiative, "A Vision for Gold Standard Beach Accessibility".

According to John G Mc Laughlin, Chief Executive of Donegal County Council, this represents a significant milestone in the ongoing commitment to building an inclusive and accessible county. The recognition of this national award highlights the collaboration between all departments in Donegal County Council and the partnerships with community, tourism, and business organisations.

The objective of this project is to overcome the barriers that exist for many people and establish enhanced opportunities for beach accessibility. Therefore, identifying a systematic approach to achieving this goal across the county.

ALPHA Innovation was also recognised on the night, being shortlisted in the Best Enterprise & Startup Hub initiative for our festival Disrupt By The Sea. The event, held in the Pavilion at Rathmullan House, saw over a hundred attendees come along to a dragon's den style event where 6 of Ireland’s top scaleup companies pitched to a panel of US CEO’s for their chance to win a $100,000 Cash Investment.
